Rockfest - Post Mortem
Okay so Soundproof, the band i was in for Rockfest, came second!
This was really great seeing as we haven't been together long.
We got a review in Geelongs Forte magazine apparently, i haven't read it yet but i will tomorrow. Also met a lot of great people there, and more contacts. Got to play with Kyle Taylor from Lost Order which was great as well, had no idea what i was doing up there.

I'm going to try and upload the videos to Youtube, on a separate account, last time i uploaded them they didn't work..

Rockfest
Well yesterday we had our audition for Rockfest 2010, hosted by A and B music. It went fairly well and we got a lot of positive feedback and CC which was awesome, we find out on tuesday if we got in, so fingers crossed!
Also my band, Arctic Norway, are going into the studio to record a couple of songs on May the 15th. Check us out at www.myspace.com/zenithgeelong

That was a great relief, all of our effort wasn't wasted after all.
We need to work on our stage presence though..
More jumping onto drum kits? well if it's mine don't even think about it.. someone else's is a different story :)

Portable Crossbow

That site has an awesome little crossbow that will take you 10 minutes to make, i made one just now, and it's no toy! This thing can do some serious harm, so don't aim it at anyone please.
Crossbows have been banned by the Pope, the same goes for this.

Zildjian K ride cymbal!
Just purchased this cymbal second hand, it's amazing!
Such a great dark tone to it, it crashes beautifully and you can just ride it all day.
If you haven't had a listen to one, search zildjian 20" k ride on youtube and watch the memphis drum shop videos,
you'll see what i mean.

Greetings
So this is my first ever blog post, scary.
Just to let anyone who actually reads this know; my blog will be about drums, more drums, art, music, gaming and anything creative that i'm currently interested in.
For starters, i've been listening to Nine Inch Nails and Bloc Party to death lately. check out http://www.ninwiki.com/Year_Zero and read up on that album and the publicity behind it, and what the band did prior to it's release, it's quite amazing.
Also for bloc party, i've been uploading drum covers (essentially me playing the drum part to a song and having the song over the top) to youtube, so check those out if you like, i'm covering the album 'Intimacy (2008)' at the moment and i hope to finish it off before the end of the school term. (10 weeks)
Anyway thanks for stumbling upon this somehow.
